Susan Sarandon is the eldest of nine children and was born in October, 1946. She was raised in Edison, New Jersey and her parents encouraged her interest in acting from an early age. She attended the Catholic University of America from 1964 to 1968 and earned a BA in drama. By 1969 she had landed her first part in a movie named "Joe" and a fantastic and lengthy film career was born. Sarandon has been around for four decades and she's still going strong producing quality work, gathering nominations for awards and sending hearts aflutter all over.

1975 saw her cast in the cult classic "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and while it wasn't a huge hit at the time it has continued to be popular over the years and she wins new fans every year from all the midnight showings. In the late 80s and 90s she hit the peak of her notoriety with movies like "Bull Durham", "Thelma & Louise", "The Witches of Eastwick", "The Client", "Little Women" and "Dead Man Walking". Now she's a go to actress for the part of an older woman with gravitas. She won an Oscar in 1996 for the aforementioned Dead Man Walking and was nominated four other times in the 90s.
