Shay Johnson is a 23 year old TV personality who gained her fame on the show "Flavor of Love 2". The idea of the show was that Flavor Flav invited females to his mansion where they would compete for his love. The second season of the show was a hit with 3.9 million viewers at its debut and 7.5 million viewers by the finale. It is the highest ranking show in VH1's history. Shay was dubbed Buckeey by Flavor Flav and the nickname stuck. She gained a lot of attention when she pushed a fellow contestant off a balcony during the show. Buckeey came in second place in the show to contestant Toastee.

While "Flavor of Love" made Buckeey a household name, Shay Johnson had already been in the entertainment business beforehand. She was in several music videos for hip-hop and rap artists. Though she does not sing, Shay Johnson is known for her attractive figure and is thought of as eye candy in the music industry. Also, Johnson ran her own promotional business from Atlanta, Georgia where she lived. In 2006, Shay appeared in many magazines and had a six page spread in the magazine Smooth in 2007. She also was in many black women's hairstyle magazines. Shay appeared on another reality TV show called "Charm School" with the hopes of winning $50,000. Shay Johnson has several ventures outside of television including entrepreneurship, working as an event host, and occasional radio jockey. She had her own calendar for 2008.

Buckeey got the most attention for a sex tape leaked during "Flavor of Love". The tape is very short but clearly shows Shay Johnson and her ex boyfriend having sex. Johnson admitted to making the tape and there are rumors that she leaked it herself.
