Actress Sharon Stone was born March 10th, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She has three siblings and her mother was an accountant and housewife and her father a tool and die manufacturer. Stone was able to graduate from high school early due to an accelerated program and afterwards she went to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for a brief period.

In the 1970s, Stone was made Miss Crawford County. A judge advised her to quit school and pursue modeling in New York. Stone's mother agreed and Sharon Stone left in 1977 to live with an aunt in New Jersey. She was signed to Ford Modeling Agency just four days later. Her modeling career eventually took Stone to Europe where she decided to become an actress instead. She went back to New York City and began auditioning for film roles.

Throughout the 80s, Stone had small and forgettable films in many films. When she appeared in "Total Recall" in 1990, Stone's career finally began to take off. She decided to further her small success by posing nude for "Playboy" magazine. Afterwards, she got cast as a serial killer in the 1992 film "Basic Instinct". The film showed a shot of Stone's vulva and the scene became infamous. It also helped Stone's career and made her into a star. She made the list of "People" magazine's 50 most beautiful people later that year.

Sharon Stone has been married three times: first briefly to George Englund Jr in 1984, then Michael Greenburg from 1987 to 1990 and finally to Phil Bronstein from 1998 to 2004. Stone and Brostein adopted a son together and stone has two more adopted children. Stone embarrassed herself twice while trying to support humanitarian causes, once by raising money for mosquito nets for Tanzania in order to fight malaria, even though the country already provides people with free nets. The next case was when she hinted that China deserved an earthquake because of how they'd treated the Tibetans without realizing the earthquake struck in Tibet.
