Shannon Kristine Hughes born on Nov. 25, 1988, in Glendale, Ariz. daughter of Mark and Kris Hughes has three sisters, Brooke (27), Brean (25), and Lauren (23) majoring in accounting.

Four-year starter at forward and center midfield selected Region Player of the Year as a senior after helping the Cobras to a third-place finish in the state tournament earned first team all-state honors in 2005, and was second team in 2003 three-time first team all region, second team in 2004 team won regional championship three times, and took runner-up in the state her freshman season also played one year of golf as a freshman and earned all-region honors as well. Club: Played for Sereno 89 White in Scottsdale, Ariz., since 2001.

In her first year in Las Vegas, played in 18 games with three starts scored one goal and added one assist, both against Oakland in September 4, for three points for the season.

Scored a golden goal at TCU in October 21 in UNLV's 1-0 overtime win, the first game-winner of her career also added one assist for three total points appeared in 21 games with 16 starts.

One of four players to start all 21 games scored the game-winner in UNLV's 1-0 win at Long Beach State in September 7 finished with two goals and two assists for six points, which ranked sixth on the team.
