Sarah Jessica Parker is an actress who gained international fame for her role in the HBO series "Sex and the City". She was born March 25th, 1965 in Nelsonville, Ohio. Parker has seven siblings from her parents and her mother's remarriage. While Parker was still young, she showed skill in singing and dancing.
Her family moved near New York City in 1977 and Parker began her career. Parkers' first major success as a child actress was in the 1979 Broadway musical "Annie" for which she had the lead role. In 1982, Sarah Jessica Parker got a role on the TV series "Square Pegs". The show gained the young actress attention and led to roles in several films, including "Footloose" in 1984. Parker wasn't sure about accepting the role at first because she was concerned about being tied down to a long-term project. Despite this, Parker claimed that she will never be in another TV show again. She did, however, star in the "Sex and the City" movie which was released in 2008.
In addition to acting, Sarah Jessica Parker is very active in the fashion world. She launched her own line of fashion called "Bitten" in 2007. She also has several fragrances. From 1984 to 1991, Parker dated Robert Downey, Jr. In 1997, Parker married Matthew Broderick and the couple had a son in 2002. They had twins from a surrogate mother in 2009. The family lives in New York City.
