Nina Constantinova Dobreva comes from Sofia, Bulgaria and on ninth day of Jan this year, she turned 21. Even though she comes from Eastern Europe, she is considered an actress from Canada. The reason for this is that when she was a toddler, her parents emigrated to the other side of the planet and settled in Toronto. She got into modeling first, but her movie career really started 4 years ago. Always interested in performing, she was a student at Dean Armstrong Acting School which really got her recognized for her talents.

Away From Her (�06) and Playing House (�06) were amongst her first parts. For good 3 years she was in Degrassi: The Next Generation until �09, which led her to score a part in The Vampire Diaries (�09-current), where she�s a regular. Degrassi Goes Hollywood (�09) also saw her as the main actress, even though the movie was released on TV only. Last year saw her make a movie Chloe and she has one lined up to be shown next year � American Empire.

While she finished college in Canada, she put her uni studies on hold to concentrate more on her work as an actress; she completed a part of it in Toronto, and plans to finish it off in years to come. Verve Girl (�07) and Seventeen (�10) put her on their cover pages. On a personal front, she lives with her parents and her sibling. Keeping fit is important to Nina Dobrev who likes all the outdoor sports, some which are adrenalin pumping. At one stage she even took a Canadian flag in the competition in gymnastics.

Her work also gave her the opportunity to fly back to the old continent for fun and personal discoveries. Like any youngster of her age, she also likes social networking sites and has a profile on Twitter.
