Monica Anna Maria Bellucci an Italian actress and former fashion model. She was born on September 30, 1964 in Citta di Castello, Italy.

She began her modeling career at the tender age of 16. It was by modeling that she was able to pay her tuition for law school. She had intended on becoming a lawyer, but life was pulling her in another direction. As more and more modeling jobs lined up, she quit school and was shortly offered by the film's director, Dino Risi, to appear in his TV movie "Vita Coi Figli"(1990). He had previously seen her picture in a magazine.

Two years later she caught the attention of director Francis Ford Coppola who cast her in the 1992 movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula". Acting career was taking off and she was nominated for a Cesar Award for her role in "L'Apartement" (1996). She went on to star in such motion pictures as "Malena" (2000), "Irreversible" (2002), "The Matrix Reloaded" (2003),"The Passion of the Christ" (2004), "The Brothers Grimm" (2005), "Don't Look Back" (2009),etc. She won the World Actress Award in Womens' World Award, in 2009.

She is considered a sex symbol and is currently the face of numerous Dior products. She has graced many most beautiful, most desirable and sexiest women lists, for over a decade. She was married to fashion photographer Claudio Carlos Basso. She is currently married to actor Vincent Cassel, whom she has worked with in several films, including "Irreversible" a movie that is infamous for it's lengthy rape scene of Bellucci's pregnant character Alex.

Bellucci and Cassel have a daughter together, named Deva and born on September 12, 2004. The couple is expecting another child in the spring of 2010. While pregnant with Deva, Bellucci posed nude for the Italian edition of Vanity Fair.
