In 1992 Maggie Wright and her husband Wilf were running a bar called "Maggie's Tree" on the island of Phuket, off the coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. They adopted a two-year-old Thai girl named "Hao" and moved to Penang Malaysia, where there were better schools and hospitals.
