Lauren Conrad is a reality TV star who also has worked as an author and fashion designer. She was born February 1st, 1986 in Laguna Beach, California. In her last year of high school, Conrad got a role on the MTV reality show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
From a young age, Conrad had a desire to become a fashion designer and majored in the subject at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. During her freshman year, she met her future costar Heidi Montag. Neither of the girls felt in place at the university or in San Francisco. They moved back to Southern California and lived together as roommates while attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA. During this time, Conrad got a job working for "Teen Vogue". She also got her own reality TV show called "The Hills" which debuted on MTV in 2006.
Heidi Montag was also featured in the show as Conrad's roommate. By the second season, Montag and Conrad's relationship began to deteriorate, especially as Montag focused her attention on her new boyfriend, Spencer Pratt. In 2007, Montag moved out and Audrina Patridge became Conrad's new roommate. During the third season of "The Hills", Conrad was offered a position in the public relations company People's Revolution. Conrad stayed on "The Hills" for two more seasons but then left to pursue other goals.
In 2008, Conrad debuted her own fashion line. The next year, she released a semi-autobiographical novel called "LA Candy". In 2010, she released another novel which was on the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Lauren Conrad has been the center of a lot of media attention, especially for her relationships with "Laguna Beach" cast members Jason Wahler, Stephen Colletti, and baseball player Doug Reinhardt.
