Jessica Biel is a former model and actress who became famous for her role on the TV series "7thHeaven" but went on to pursue other roles. She was born March 3, 1982 in Ely, Minnesota. The Biel family moved many times during Jessica's childhood and lived in Texas, Connecticut and Illinois but finally settled in Boulder, Colorado.
When Jessica Biel was just 12 years old, she attended a modeling conference in Los Angeles and was discovered. After signing to a talent agency, she did modeling for advertisements as TV commercials. Biel also started to audition for TV shows and, at the age of 14, she was cast as the eldest daughter on "7thHeaven". The show was a success and became the longest-aired family drama.
After four seasons of playing a goodie-girl on "7thHeaven", Biel wanted to move on to other, more adult roles. The network wouldn't let her out of her contract though so she posed partially nude for "Gear" magazine in 2000. However, despite the controversy the shoot caused, Biel was not allowed out of her contract. In 2003, Biel's contract with "7thHeaven" was finally up and she got the lead role in the remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Her real breakthrough as a film actress came in 2006 when she starred alongside Edward Norton in "The Illusionist". She appeared in major films every year afterwards with great success.
Jessica Biel has frequently ranked high on the lists of sexiest women in the world, including the number one spot in "Stuff" magazine in 2007 and being named "Sexiest Woman Alive" by "Esquire" in 2005. In addition to acting, Jessica Biel has performed as a vocalist on the "Easy Virtue" soundtrack and in the role of Sarah Brown for the Los Angeles Philharmonic production of "Guys and Dolls" in 2009.
