Jennifer Tilly is a famous actress and also a poker play. She was born September 16th, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. Her father is Chinese-American which accounts for Tilly's mixed ethnic looks. She also has three siblings including the actress Meg Tilly. After her parents divorced when Jennifer was five, she went to live with her mother and step father in British Columbia. When her mother divorced again, Tilly then moved to Victoria.
As a teenager, Jennifer Tilly began acting in a theatre program. In the 1980s, Tilly received small roles on television shows and some movies. Her breakthrough role was as a waitress on "The Fabulous Baker Boys" in 1989. The next few years, Tilly was in other films but did not get serious attention again until 1994. That is when she won an Academy Award for her role in Woody Allen's film "Bullets Over Broadway". The 1996 film "Bound" helped to redefine Tilly's acting career because of her edgy role as a lesbian. Jennifer Tilly also got a lot of recognition for doing the voice over for the doll Tiffany in the movie "Child's Play". Her voice can also be heard on the "Family Guy" animated TV show as the character Bonnie Swanson, in "Monsters Inc.", "Stuart Little", and several other animated movies.
In addition to acting, Jennifer Tilly is a skilled poker player. In 2005, she won a ladies World Series of Poker bracelet along with a pot over $150,000. She is the only celebrity to win a poker open and has gone on to win several other world poker tournaments. From 1984 to 1991, Tilly was married to Sam Simon. She currently is in a relationship with Phil Laak, a professional poker player.
