Jamie Lee Curtis is an actress with a career spanning over 30 years and many genres. She is also a bestselling author and the wife of a Lord. She was born November 22, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. Both her parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, were actors. Curtis also has an older sister Kelly who is also an actress. After her parents divorced in 1962, Jamie Lee Curtis eventually gained several half siblings.
Curtis went to the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California but she left after one semester so she could pursue acting. Jamie Lee's debut role was also her most defining one. In 1978, she got the lead role in the horror movie "Halloween". Her character was the only teen in the entire film who was not killed. Over the next few years, Curtis got roles in slasher horror films. In wasn't until 1983 with the film "Trading Places" that Curtis left the horror genre. She went on to star in the 1988 film "A Fish Called Wanda" which is considered one of the best comedies of all time. After that, Curtis starred in at least one major film just about every year and still continues to act. She had proven herself capable of taking on different types of roles.
In 1998, Curtis wrote the book "Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day". Book was on The New York Times best-seller list. She also writes as a blogger for an online newspaper and has written eight children's books. Since 1984, Jamie Lee Curtis has been married to Christopher Guest who is officially a Lord. The couple has two adopted children. Curtis is also known for her charity work, especially in regards to AIDS and drug addiction.
