Elisha Cuthbert is a former child star who got attention for her roles in "Popular Mechanics" and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?". She was born in 1982 to working class parents and has a younger sister and brother.
The Calgary native began her career early at the age of seven as a clothing model and a foot model for children's shoe magazines. After her success in television, Cuthbert got her first major film role in the 1997 movie "Dancing on the Moon". She also appeared in several other films during this time but knew that she had to take her career outside of Canada in order to achieve success. Elisha Cuthbert finished her high school education early at the age of 17 and left for Las Angeles. Shortly afterwards, Cuthbert succeeded and was awarded the role as Kim Bauer in the TV series "24" and appeared in the first three seasons. During this time, Cuthbert was in several films, the biggest hit of them all being "House of Waxalong "with Paris Hilton. From 2006, Elisha Cuthbert focused on more serious roles with heavier themes, such as a teenager suffering from sexual abuse in the movie "The Quietor" as a model who is tormented by a psychotic kidnapper in the movie "Captivity".
Elisha Cuthbert has a passion for hockey and two of her boyfriends have been professional hockey players: Sean Avery of the Los Angeles Kings and Dion Phaneuf formerly of the Calgary Flames. Cuthbert is considered one of the sexiest actresses in the business right now and has constantly placed in the lists of hottest women in FHM and Maxim magazines. Despite this, Cuthbert still refuses to do nude scenes in any of her films and insists on body doubles.
