Born as Angeline Brown in North Dakota on 30th Sept 1931, she is better known as Angie Dickinson. She is an actress winning many awards and has more than 50 movies under her belt.
Her career started off in '53 when she won 2nd place in the beauty contest. This was just after she got married a year earlier her first hubby Gene Dickinson (the marriage lasted 8 years until '60). This prompted her to get into acting. She started off in Lucky Me ('54) and made few movies a year since along with Frank Sinatra in Ocean's Eleven ('60). She is possibly best known for her portrayal of Sgt Leanne "Pepper" Anderson between '74-'78, in Police Woman. For this, she was nominated for 3 years in a row as an Outstanding Lead Actress in Drama Series (Emmy Awards) and won a Golden Globe in '75 for Best Actress for the same show. Golden Globe also nominated her for 3 years in a row for Police Woman.
With one marriage behind her, she went on to marry Burt Bacharach in '65 and she was married to him for 15 years. This union produced a daughter born a year after the wedding, however Nikki (daughter) took her own life in '07. She is a twice-divorcee who didn't act much during the eighties but returned in the last decade of the century in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues ('93). She reprised her role in Ocean's Eleven remake in '01 �and has been involved in documentaries.
