Chloe Stevens Sevigny is best known for being an actress although she can also be credited with being a fashion designer as well as a model. She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on November 18, 1974. In her younger and teenage years Sevigny describes herself as a loner with not many friends. She also went through a rebellious phase where she shaved her head and experimented with various hallucinogenic drugs.
Her first professional role was in an indie film called "Kids" in 1995. Following that she was cast in another independent film called "Trees Lounge" (1996). Having started her career off by acting in independent films, it will continue to be the path she follows choosing good scripts over high paying roles. Although she already had a few independent and studio films ("Palmetto" (1998), "The Last Days of Disco" (1998))under her belt, her big break came with the movie "Boys Don't Cry" (1999) Hilary Swank.
She was nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe and although she didn't receive neither she was awarded the Satellite Award, Sierra Award and Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress. Since then she has continued to star in films such as "American Psycho" (2000), "Dogville" (2003), "The Brown Bunny" (2003) which stirred up a lot of controversy, "3 Needles" (2005), "Zodiac" (2007) and most recently "The Killing Room", "My Son, My Son, What Have I Done?" and "Beautiful Darling" in which she had a vocal role, all from 2009.
She has been part of the HBO TV series "Big Love" since 2006 and won the Golden Globe Award for her role in January, 2010. Throughout the years Chloe has designed and released numerous fashion lines for men and women as well as unisex clothing. Chloe herself has a very distinctive style encrypted with many vintage pieces.
